Ojos abiertos // Open eyes

Durante tantos años pensé que el problema de la humanidad era no percibir el Bien, para darme cuenta ahora que eso no es suficiente, que más grave que eso es no percibir el Mal.

No percibir las dos cosas es estar ciego.
Percibir sólo el Bien es como estar tuertos.
Percibir el Bien y el Mal es tener los dos ojos abiertos.

For so many years I thought that the problem of humanity was not to perceive the Good, to realize now that that is not enough, that more serious than that is not to perceive the Evil. 

Not to perceive both is to be blind. 
To perceive only the Good is like to be one-eyed. 
To perceive both the Good and the Evil is to have both eyes open.
